One of the best places in
to get one of those divine carb fixes has to be Enzo’s on Adelaide Port Road. This belief is certainly unanimous amongst Adelaidians’ as this place is chockas every bloody night it’s open. Don’t expect to rock up to Enzo’s without a booking as I can imagine you will be given the look many-a people made when hearing that octo-mum was getting into the porn industry… it’s the ‘you’re-kidding-me-right?’ face.
Calabrese, Saltinbocca or Risotto ai funghi, order whatever your heart desires because just like any movie with Meryl Streep in the creds… they are all bound to be winners! Side note: Julie & Julia is one of the best movies of all time. Get there. I went with the Pappardelle al ragu’ di agnello which is a fancy shmancy name for pappardelle pasta with lamb shoulder ragu. Super thick strands of redic fresh pasta (because as much as some hate to admit it…size matters) topped with flavoursome lamb. The meat was so tender it was falling apart with a touch of the fork. If this dish could win an Oscar it’d get my vote!
The girls and I also decided to indulge in little dessert because when in doubt just say YOLO! And it was certainly worth the extra calories. The tiramisu was agreed to be worth the trip all on its own.
The top quality of the ingredients and the authenticity of the dishes are worth the extra few sheckles and with the red and white table clothes and attentive service, this Italiano heaven can serve as a ‘special occasion’ locaish without a bill that will make your pits sweat.
