Now, once my behind was adequately cushioned, I decided to peruse the menu as I waited for my dining partner to inevitably rush through the door all White-Rabbit-styles proclaiming ‘I’m late, I’m late, for a very important date.’ When examining the menu I was impressed by the variety of dishes available. Firstly, I insisted that we get some duck because well… when in Rome! Entrée was the Peking Duck pancakes which were like little bundles of joy. Holy duck it was good! The succulent slices of duck were to die for and the accompanying sauce was so tasty it seemed to inspire some kind of my-parents-are-away-so-lets-have-a-party-without-them-knowing kind of party in my mouth. That’s how good it was.
For mains we decided to share and agreed on the mixed vegetables and cashew nuts, the salt and pepper eggplant and the Singapore noodles. All dishes were really quite outstanding. The Singapore noodles were singing out in freshness and flavour, the vegetables were beautifully cooked (and assisted me in achieving my 3 and 5 quota for the day) and the salt and pepper eggplant was adequately seasoned and would stand to rival some of the other well known eateries on the street. Pretty great result I would say.
Well there you have it folks, even the harsh Russian judge would give Fortune Duck a solid score and I am definitely going to put this restaurant on my Gouger Street rotation. It’s official: Fortune Duck is a goer, so spread the word like an STD in Jersey Shore.
Until next time… Stay Rad-elaide.

Oooh this sounds awesome. I love the "party in your mouth..." comment. Haha, what a brilliant endorsement :-)
ReplyDeleteDo you ever pop away from Adelaide just to mix it up? Of course, with so many rad choices maybe you don't feel the need.
Anyway, if you're ever in Port MacDonnell be sure to say g'day.
Glad you enjoyed the post Tracey! I have done a few places around SA for example I have checked out some of the "big things" in Loxton, Berri, Kingston just to name a few but besides that, I'm all about Adelaide. Thanks for having a read and if I do head to Port MacDonnell I'll be sure to let you know! Thanks again.
