This place is just straight up rad. Lovely people working there, sweet vibes and super cute interior. But I’ll tell ya what, when you have a pie in front of you – which is nothing short of a meaty-heaven - all that stuff is just a lovely side dish to the main mouth-watering event. It is, without a doubt, the pastry perfection that keeps so many Adelaidians coming back to this place again, and again, and again. Me included! The first time I had Red Door Bakery I was so gobsmacked by its goodness I was back again the next day! The Angus Beef Pie is super delish and you can just taste the quality of the ingredients. I’ve also heard shining reviews on their Berkshire Free range Pork and Sage Sausage Roll as well as their Lamb and Moroccan Eggplant Sausage Roll. Oh and puh-lease don’t even get me started on their banana and caramel muffins. If you like bananas and you like caramel then you will love this treat. Like, I’m-leaving-my-current-partner-and-running-away-with-this-muffin kind of love.
In some extremely exciting and slightly scary news, I have actually discovered that there is a Red Door Bakery opening up on King William Road! I am talking like a 5 minute walk from my house! Exciting news as it is so conveniently close but a tad scary as shamefully (read ‘almost certainly’) I will be there at least 2-3 times a week. This may have a terrible effect on my waistline and it may be a sacrifice I am willing to make. I believe it could be opening this weekend so get down there and check it out… or not, as that means more muffins for me!
Until next time…. Stay Rad-elaide.
I've made a few visits to this area and find Red Door not only has nice pastries but the best coffee along this road so i'll definitely be back.
ReplyDeleteForgot to mention the coffee, all the more reason to check out the new one on King William Road. Thanks for sharing bobby!
ReplyDeleteMy favourite bakery! Their tarts are a-maz-ing as well! :)
ReplyDeleteDefinitely will be back again this weekend! Thanks for the comment d @ dbites. I read your blog religiously and love it! Next stop for me is Pearl's Diner. Thanks for the recommendation!
