Mamma mia, here I go again. My my, how can I resist you?

Well Mother’s Day has come ‘round yet again and my sister and I decided to forgo the usual flowers-with-a-card gig this year and take our ever so delightful mother out for lunch instead! I thought this option was a real goer because let’s face it - I’ll jump at any excuse to go out for a lovely meal which, may I add, is exactly what we got at Melt on King William Road.

Two things I learnt from my lunch at Melt: 1) The staff at Melt are completely lovely. 2) Getting on the sauce at mid-day only ends in a dismally unproductive afternoon… so much for finishing my corporate assignment on time! Seriously though, these waitresses are attentive, knowledgeable and just down-right sweethearts. They are certainly the main ingredient for the fantastic vibe they have concocted!

For Mother’s Day they had a set menu on the go which included a selection of tapas and pizzas of your choosing . The generous variety of tapas we received were all dynamite. The hummus, haloumi, and green beans got my vote for the ‘top tapas’ title. Parents will never have to force their kids to ‘eat all their greens’ at Melt because those green beans are an absolute flavour explosion. Who would have thought that plain ol’ veggies could taste so bloody good! For the pizzas, we went with two of the meatier options because that’s how the old man likes to roll and for the love of lamb they were delicious!

Although I missed out on him this time, I’d just like to give a shout out to a very special person..sorry I mean pizza. We haven’t seen each other for a while but he certainly has a special place in my tummy. I’m talking about Dessert Pizza. He’s got chocolate, he’s got pistachios, he’s got cream, he’s got everything a sweet tooth could imagine. What a dream boat! I’ve recently moved abodes and am now loving the King Willy way of life. So rest assured Melt, you haven’t seen the last of me!

Until next time... Stay Rad-elaide.
