I have my dessert first. What if I die whilst eating my entree?

You're nestling in on the couch when the credits begin to roll and you know it's coming ...'Hunny...I feel like some dessert' ugh, it's late and cold outside and the idea of sitting in the car whilst inhaling a Maccy D's sundae isn't the most appealing thought. WELL - I know a lovely little eatery that's open late every night of the week and makes some of the best desserts in town. The place I'm yappin' about is 'Spats' on King William Road. This romantic little dim-lit delight is put together in a random (or should I say eclectic?) fashion with mis-matching furniture and a bizarre collection of antiques. A tea-room ghetto if you will? And I mean that in the nicest of ways. Don't bother stopping here during the day as the doors don't open until the sun goes down.

In my opinion this place has got to be visited at least three times in ones lifespan so that you have tried the brandy snap basket, the pancakes and the waffles. Let me repeat: These should not be missed! They also have an array of light snacks, teas and coffee, smoothies and even full-on meals. Although I love this place, I do find it a little on the pricey side therefore I only hit it up for dessert. Also, who wants to eat a steak from a laid back couch with a small low table anyway?

The intimate cosy booths provide a great setting for a romantic sweet-toothed snuggle or something a little different for a coffee goss sesh with yo' ladies (or men!). The lighting is always dimmed which not only adds to the welcoming atmosphere but also undeniably shields this quirky set-up to ensure it doesn't look like a garage sale arrangement.

Curiouser and curiouser...This place is like a mad hatter's tea party done right. So in the words of the Mad Hatter - Would you like a cup of tea?
